Pirastro's Original Flat-Chrome strings for bass are made out of a high-tensile rope made from carbon steel at the core, and wrapped in chrome steel. These strings are ideal for arco playing. They produce a very brilliant sound with a short sustain. The sound projection of these strings is slightly greater than that of the original Flexocor strings. They are very responsive with a big tonal volume.
